Many turners are working off the lathe to add artistic touches with carving, texturing, wood burning, or color. Some of these require the turned piece to be held securely in position for the work to be completed, yet be able to rotate the work in various positions to suit their needs as the work progresses.

The Jerry-Rig Work Holder is ideal for this type of work.

Its flexible rotating work holder provides 360º of rotation, 3-1/2" vertical adjustment and 12 positions forward and back.
It can be locked tightly in any position so that the work piece is in the right position for the turner to accomplish the work.

Combine the work holder with the purpose-built carving post and you can work on a turning without removing it from the faceplate or chuck.

Clamp the carving post in the work holder, adjust it for height, thread the faceplate or chuck onto the carving post and go to work. There is no need to remove the work from the faceplate or chuck.
