Taxidermy

Welcome to the most advanced breakthrough in mounting stands for the taxidermy industry. Now wildlife artists and taxidermists can enjoy the same precision holding power and mobility that the electrical assembly and manufacturing industries have known for years.

From the beginning, taxidermists have been constrained by home made holders and poorly designed pipe stands, which wear out, slip, and limit mobility and production. Whether you’re a professional or novice, your equipment’s efficiency, and reliability are factors which can and will affect the final outcome of a piece.

Jerry-Rig bench mount holders are designed specifically for small or large game heads and sculptures where holding power and mobility are essential.

  • Ergonomic design for full 360 degree rotation
  • Unique locking system squeezes the crossbar shafts for increased surface contact and holding power.
  • Level lock handles can change position before loosening or tightening for maximum leverage and convenience
  • Mount permanently of a work bench or use with optional clamp
  • Mounts in vertical or horizontal positions for working while standing or sitting
  • Corrosion-resistant, nickel-plated steel crossbars
  • Durable, heavy gauge, cast aluminum, powder-coated body
  • Locks are aluminum anodized hard coat, scratch and corrosion resistant
  • Crossbars are 5/8" diameter, solid steel, polished, ground, and nickel plated for corrosion resistance
  • Accessories available to aid in all phases of wildlife art from fish, bird and mammal taxidermy to habitats, sculptures and wood carvings

Small Crossbar Assembly

The crossbar assembly offers the widest range of mobility and versatility for the artist, when full access to the object is required.

  • Height measures 13” min, 18” max.
  • Positioning plate measures 1/8” x 2” x 5” w/ 10” rod.
  • P/N JRT-100CS

Large Bench mount holder for oversized projects

Our large bench mount holder was designed specifically for large game heads and sculptures to anything where holding power and mobility are essential. It has all the same features as the small crossbar assembly plus the following:

  • Stand holds telescoping shaft with locking mechanism.
  • Stand height adjustment from 12" min to 20"max
  • 1" diameter crossbars, solid steel, polished, ground and nickel plated for corrosion resistance
  • Mounting plate measures 4" x 6", nickel plated

Jerry-Rig with positioning plate

A steel shaft and robust, cast aluminum, powder coated plate, for vigorous, daily shop tasks. Wood bases can be held and maneuvered for habitat construction without the need to “chase them” across crowded work tables, damaging finishes. Manikins can be strongly secured for form alterations where heavy sawing and hammer blows would push the integrity of most stands. Positioning plate P/N JR-P1 is 5/8”x3-5/8”x 1/2” w5/8” dia. rod.

Table Clamp

Optional clamp can be mounted to the Jerry-Rig body. Large or small crossbar assembly. Opens to 3 1/4”.

Mounting Plate

Extra mounting plates for your crossbar assembly eliminates the need to remove the plate from each piece when moving from one stage to another. Keep several on hand for an economical assembly line approach. Use this plate with the Jerry-Rig holder for a simple system when strength is the priority over mobility. Small plate JRT-MPS is 2”x5”, large plate JRT-MPL is 4”x6”, both w/10” rod.

‘Z’ Holders

Three interchangeable mounting brackets or ‘Z’ brackets in different sizes designed for holding smaller items where the smallest amount of surface area can be covered by the mounting plate. Affords a full range of mobility which can be increased by inserting it into the crossbar assembly. Also designed for easy removal from the “Jerry-Rig” to an in-hand application. Polished and ground, nickel plated, with steel shaft.
Measurements:

  • Rod 10”
  • Zees 1” , 2”, 3” Wide
